What a Day! CELEBRATE

Today started
with a bang....of trees falling, power outages and other powerful things .... Like Dr. Keith Hampton's choir clinic on CELEBRATE, one of his most famous compositions. We got an incredible lesson in music, faith, gospel roots and modern interpretation. For ninety minutes he transfixed and prepared us to go out and proclaim the message in song.

Then Jon Rudy treated us to Bach's "Wedge", one of JSB's most challenging organ pieces - Prelude and Fugue in e minor

And then the talent show ....oh my! From the violin virtuosity of Paul Christian, to Evan's Adolfo, to Kenny's ballet and much more, we realized what an incredibly talented group of young people we have with us. It's going to be a wonderful experience sharing it with new friends in Germany.

It's off to Millenium Park in Downtown Chicago tomorrow am, then to the airport. More blogging over the weekend.

Today was a Celebration!

Very hot threatening weather caused a change in plans and we practiced for 5 hrs and loved (almost) every minute of it. We're ready for Dr. Keith Hampton, composer of Celebrate tomorrow. The talent show is shaping up for tomorrow night and the burgers at Alfie's were awesome and so are our blend and balance. Why, we're almost ready to go on tour and experience our theme for 2011...How can we Keep from Singing!!!!!!

We're launched!

We've gotten 1.5 hrs of rehearsing under our belts, gotten to know each others' names, had some good pizza, and are awed by how good we sound already. All that work paid off. Here we are working very hard!
